Roeselare 2014

Roeselare, De Spil 2 feb - 2 march 2014

What if walls could talk?

What would the walls of Roeselare have to say?

For my art project Talking Walls I give the walls a voice. The wall is situated in a building in the city. Through little anecdotes I'll bring the history of the city or neighborhood back to life.

I want to know what goes on in that area and which stories are alive. To know that I'm looking for interaction with the people, inviting them to my temporary studio during the process of painting ( 2 to 3 weeks) and let them tell their story.

The result is a stop motion animation depicting the different stories, giving an unique feel of the region.

The purpose of the Talking walls project is to travel around Belgium depicting lots of different neighborhoods and cities each with their own unique history.
