Talking Walls Knokke-Heist, Belgium (feb 8th -18th 2016)

Commissioned by cultural festival Nagt Karolien Soete painted a wall during 10 days in the exhibition space of Cultural center Scharpoord. Under the guise "What if walls could talk? What would they have to say? " The artist photographs her paintings and then paints over them again as she make subtle changes . This provides hundreds of photos that she then compiles into an animated film. Talking Walls is an artistic project that encourages people in cities to interact with art and with each other . A life-size animation painted directly on a wall at a location in a city. The verbal contribution of the visitors and citizens is essential for this project. The result of this exchange is a full in situ mural, in which the theme is unique to its location, and also an animated film that tells the story of the city.
